February 2003 Email Technique
Preview Window
If you aren't using the preview window pane on your email program, then
you are most likely wasting lots of time sorting through your emails.
Either that or you are being forced to delete emails that could be
legitimate because you simply don't have time to go through them.
I use Microsoft Outlook and have my screen split into several different
panes. -- Actually three panes.

Preview
To make your preview pane visible if it is not, click on "View" and then
click on "Preview Pane."
You also have another option when you click on "View" and that is "auto
preview" which shows the first three lines or so of text along with the
message. I don't know if I like that or not or if it has an dangerous
virus consequences so I just use the preview pane.
You can adjust the size of the pane relative to your inbox by grabbing
the horizontal divider and moving it up or down.
Using this preview saves me lots of time because I don't have to open
every email (and I get lots of them) to see what they are about. Some
emails have clever subject lines written by spammers to get you to open
the email, but by glancing at the preview pane, I can immediately see if
the email needs deleted or if it's something legitimate.
